Where Is She?
Beginning To Notice
“Pay attention to what happens to your playfulness in different rooms.”
Does it get bigger?
Does it get smaller?
Is it trepidatious?
Does it hide?
Does it shine?
Your playfulness.....you know...that part of you that existed before everyone else. The innocent, trusting, pure, joyful, playfulness in you.
Do you still have her with you?
Or is she still back there?
Do we need to perform a rescue mission or can you feel her in your laugh.....your smile that spreads across your face? Can you feel in her in your ideas? Your creativity? Can you feel her in your everyday way of being?
If she is with you.....how does your partner influence her? Your friends? How does your family of origin move her?
Do they see her?
Do they know her?
Do they understand her?
It seems to me that we have a whole lot of adults walking around very adulty. Somewhere along the way we decided that adults don’t act like that. Adults are serious and they are responsibly committed to the performance of being an adult.
I think that’s why my light takes people by surprise. My playfulness renders them slightly off guard at first.....and often...eventually...they release their own little one to come and play.
What if.....we didn’t lock them up? What if they were born to play our whole lives? What if they weren’t meant just for childhood but to accompany us through our whole lives?
What if?
